Electrical Design Engineer


Our client is a well-established South African engineering and manufacturing company based in Alberton, specializing in precision sheet metal fabrication and turnkey engineering solutions. They provide high-quality services including laser cutting, bending, welding, and panel assembly, primarily serving the electrical and automation industries.

The Electrical Design Engineer will play a vital role in developing detailed schematics and layouts for control systems, using Eplan and Autocad, while collaborating closely with the production team to ensure seamless project execution. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to technically advanced, custom-built engineering solutions in a fast-paced environment.

📍 Location: Alberton, Alrode South
💰 Salary: R30 000 – R40 000 per month
🕒 Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 06:30 – 15:30

🔧 Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop detailed electrical schematics and layouts for:
• MCCs (Motor Control Centres)
• PLC panels
• Distribution Boards (DBs)
• Control panels
• Select appropriate electrical components and materials based on performance, cost, and safety
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation including design specifications and bills of materials
• Collaborate with project management and workshop personnel
• Identify and resolve technical challenges independently and within a team
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards

🎓 Minimum Requirements:

• National Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Proficiency in Eplan Electric P8 and Autocad
• Minimum 4–5 years relevant work experience
• Fluent in Afrikaans and English
• Able to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines

🔧 Hoofverantwoordelikhede:

• Ontwerp en ontwikkeling van gedetailleerde elektriese skemas en uitleg vir:

  • MCC’s (Motorbeheerpanele)

  • PLC-panele

  • Verspreidingspanele (DB’s)

  • Beheerpanele

• Keuse van toepaslike elektriese komponente en materiale op grond van prestasie, koste en veiligheid

• Handhawing van akkurate projekdokumentasie, insluitend spesifikasies en materiaallyste

• Samewerking met projekbestuur en werkswinkelpersoneel

• Identifiseer en los tegniese uitdagings op – individueel en as deel van ’n span

• Verseker voldoening aan relevante regulasies en standaarde

🎓 Minimum Vereistes:

• Nasionale Diploma of Graad in Elektriese Ingenieurswese

• Vaardigheid in Eplan Electric P8 en Autocad

• Minimum 4–5 jaar relevante werkservaring

• Vlot in Afrikaans en Engels

• Kan onder druk werk en aan streng spertye voldoen
