Production Manager 

Our client is looking for a proactive and experienced Production Manager to oversee the full grain packaging and distribution process at their City Deep, Johannesburg facility. This role requires a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can balance quality, efficiency, and team motivation.

📍 Location: City Deep, Johannesburg
💰 Salary: R35,000 – R40,000 per month 
🕓 Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 06:30 – 16:00
🚀 Start Date: 1 February 2026

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise the full production process — from raw materials to final packaged products.

• Lead, motivate, and manage production teams to achieve daily output targets.

• Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and food hygiene standards.

• Drive continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, and waste reduction.

• Manage warehouse operations and support the Food Safety Management System (FSMS).

• Train and upskill staff to maintain high performance levels.

• Maintain cost control and implement cost-saving initiatives.

• Adjust daily production plans as needed due to staffing or equipment issues.

Job Requirements

• Matric 

• Diploma in Management or Production Management advantageous.

• At least 5 years’ experience in a food packaging or production environment.

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.).

• Experience with Food Safety Systems (e.g. Intertek, FSMS).

• Proven leadership and problem-solving skills.

• Willingness to work overtime when necessary.

• Own reliable transport and valid driver’s license.

Hoofverantwoordelikhede

• Bestuur die volledige produksieproses — van rou materiaal tot finale verpakte produkte.

• Lei, motiveer en ontwikkel produksiespanne om daaglikse teikens te bereik.

• Verseker nakoming van gehalte-, veiligheids- en voedselhigiënestandaarde.

• Dryf volgehoue verbetering, leunvervaardiging en afvalvermindering.

• Bestuur pakhuisaktiwiteite en ondersteun die voedselbestuurstelsel (FSMS).

• Oplei en mentor van personeel om hoë werkverrigting te verseker.

• Handhaaf koste-effektiewe prosesse en kostebesparingsstrukture.

• Pas produksieplanne aan volgens personeelbeskikbaarheid en masjinerievereistes.

Posvereistes

• Matriek 

• Diploma in Bestuur of Produksiebestuur voordelig.

• Minimum 5 jaar ondervinding in ’n produksie- of kosverpakkingsomgewing.

• Sterk kennis van Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, ens.).

• Ervaring met voedselveiligheidstelsels (bv. Intertek, FSMS).

• Beproefde leierskap- en probleemoplossingsvaardighede.

• Bereidheid om oortyd te werk indien nodig.

• Eie vervoer en geldige bestuurslisensie.
