Electronics Technician (Industrial Electronics)

We are looking for a skilled and solutions-driven Electronics Technician to join our technical team. This role involves the installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial electronic equipment, including VSDs and PC boards.

📍 Location: Port Elizabeth
💰 Salary: R10 000 – R35 000 per month (depending on experience)

Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain and repair industrial electronic equipment, including VSDs, PC boards and control panels

• Conduct on-site diagnostics and resolve customer-reported technical issues

• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections and adjustments

• Provide technical guidance and training to clients

• Utilize diagnostic software and tools to identify and resolve faults

• Document service tasks, including parts used and recommendations

• Liaise with internal teams and customers to ensure service excellence

• Stay informed on industry developments and new technologies

Minimum Requirements

• Educational background must be primarily electrical or electronic
  

• Strong Mathematics and Physical Science results at school level 

• A Mechatronics Diploma highly advantageous

• Demonstrated strong interest in pure electronics, such as:

  • Digital Electronics

  • Industrial Electronics

  • Electronic fault-finding and repairs

• Candidates whose primary interest lies in programming or software development may not be suitable for hands-on electronic repair and service work

• Minimum 6 months’ experience in industrial electronics

• Proven experience repairing VSDs and PC boards

• Solid technical knowledge of industrial electronic systems and control panels

• Ability to work independently and under pressure

• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel

• Computer literate and familiar with diagnostic tools

• N4 or N5 in Electronics or Electrical, or a relevant qualification

• Knowledge of industrial safety protocols is advantageous

Hoof Verantwoordelikhede

• Installeer, herstel en onderhou industriële elektroniese toerusting, insluitend VSD’s, PC-borde en beheerpanele

• Diagnoseer en los tegniese probleme op tydens kliëntebesoeke

• Voer voorkomende instandhouding en inspeksies uit

• Verskaf tegniese ondersteuning en opleiding aan kliënte

• Gebruik diagnostiese sagteware en toerusting vir foutopsporing

• Hou akkurate rekords van herstelwerk en aanbevelings

• Kommunikeer effektief met kliënte en interne spanne

• Bly op hoogte van tegnologiese ontwikkelings in die industrie

Posvereistes

• Opleidingsagtergrond moet hoofsaaklik elektries of elektronies wees
  

• Sterk Wiskunde- en Natuurwetenskappunte op skoolvlak 

• ’n Mechatronics-diploma sal sterk voorkeur geniet

• ’n Groot belangstelling in suiwer elektronika, soos:

  • Digitale Elektronika

  • Industriële Elektronika

  • Elektroniese foutopsporing en herstelwerk

• Kandidate met ’n primêre fokus op programmering of sagteware sal waarskynlik nie geskik wees vir praktiese elektroniese herstel- en dienswerk nie

• Minimum 6 maande ondervinding in industriële elektronika

• Ervaring in die herstel van VSD’s en PC-borde is noodsaaklik

• Goeie tegniese kennis van industriële elektroniese stelsels en beheerpanele

• Moet selfstandig en onder druk kan werk

• Geldige bestuurslisensie en bereidwilligheid om te reis

• Rekenaarvaardig met kennis van diagnostiese gereedskap

• N4 of N5 in Elektronika of Elektries, of ’n relevante kwalifikasie

• Kennis van veiligheidsprotokolle is voordelig
